I got paid!

I am in such a good mood! Why? Because I got paid a lot more than I thought I was going to get paid! Well, it is only $200 more, but it adds up. Too bad it is already spend on all things wedding related and bills. Eventually I'll have money to spend on things that I WANT!

Flowers...Check!

I am happy to announce that my flowers have been taken care of and that that is one less thing I have to worry about now! It's just splendid! I also found out that the girl who is doing them, Amy, has a younger sister that I went to school with, so I do know more of her family then I thought I did. Small world! Now I just have to get that pesky caterer (sp?) taken care of this afternoon on the way home from work, then I'll spend some quality time chatting with the hubby. I'm sure I have a big cheesy grin on my face right now! I hope to know something about Tuxes this weekend and I'm making a trip to Seagrove (and Asheboro) with my Dad! That means the groomsman gifts will be handled this weekend and I can just relax after that.

I will also be joining the church that I have gone to for pretty much my entire life (with the exception of 3 years) this weekend. Everyone has always just assumed I was a member, but I am not. So that will be taken care of. My grandparents and Dad are members and tons of other family members are as well, so why not me?!? :-) Got a busy but fun weekend ahead of me. Now if only I can just make it through the week!!

Looking forward to a pleasant evening!

Tonight I am meeting with Ms. Amy to discuss the flowers for my wedding. I am really psyched about it! I know they are going to be just perfect because I have seen her work before in Chloe's wedding. The flowers were just darling! Thus I have one less thing to stress about.

My best friend also phoned this morning to let me know that she is 4 weeks pregnant, so I am going to be an Aunt as well. WooHoo! I guess I'll have to send her size 4 dress back and get her a size 6 for the wedding. :-) Lol, I wish my dress were a size 4, but the wedding dresses run large. Still, how exciting! She has been trying to get pregnant for a while now. Her and her husband have been married for a little over 2 years and just moved into a larger house, so it all just works out perfectly.

I am also going to pay my caterer tonight on the way to the flower meeting. Wow, everything is just coming together nicely now. Even after working with these little monsters all day I am in a good mood. No complaints coming from my way today!!

Oh so happy

I'm as giddy as a schoolgirl! One of my oh so wonderful Aunts is helping me with my reception for the wedding and she has already gotten my candelabras taken care of. It isn't costing a fortune either. She just made my day when she called to tell me. I'm on cloudnine!

Just 10 More Minutes!!!

That is exactly how long it will be before I take my horrid car riders out to their parents! After that I am going to go home and enjoy my weekend....The suspense is killing me!!!

I need HELP!

I have come to the conclusion that all of the crunches and reverse isometrics in the world are not doing me any good whatsoever. About the only thing that is getting into shape on this body of mine are my buns, and I'm not even working on them. If anyone has any suggestions as to how to get my abs looking ship shape I will gladly try anything. I am not liking this pouchy belly that seems to be appearing out of nowhere! I mean I exercise everyday for at least 45 minutes. I should be seeing signs of something other than weight gain right? AARGH! I don't overeat by any means, so I don't know what has gone wrong or where! I need results (good results) in a bad way!

What a performance!

Last night I had to walk out of the room I was in when Sanjaya began to perform. I hope that America (and India) takes the hint and votes him out of the competition. I saw a clip on Good Morning America this morning where a girl was crying while he was performing. Well honey I would be crying too, but not because it was a great performance! If I were him I would have gone into my little room backstage and shed a few tears as well. However, I thoroughly enjoyed miz Melinda Doolittle's performance. At the moment she is my favorite. To think that she has been a backup singer all this time, she should have been out front somewhere! Keep up the good work Melinda!!

Salvation Army

I now know where all of my quarters and dimes go to when I give them to the SA at Christmas time. Yesterday Ben recruited me to go with him to teach an archery class at a SA camp about an hour and a half from where we live. It was out in the middle of nowhere, and it was huge! It had everything that you could possibly think of as well. The woman who recruited him to come up there came over and spoke with us and told us that there are 92 SA camps wouldwide, but only about 4 or 5 of them are open to the public (the one we were at was one of them). We drove around the camp on a 'tour', we were actually looking for our range, and started picking out stuff that we wanted to take back to our camp. That was pretty much everything, lol! We did find out from the lady in charge that most of the kids that come to the camp get scholarships, however there are still a few who have to pay. Personally I think they should all be able to go for free, but I'm sure they have their reasons.

Salvation Army's got it going on!

What is wrong with America??

I tuned into American Idol last night to see Sanjaya voted off, and was pleased to see him in the bottom three because that is where he belonged. He is always pitchy and doesn't project (which I am grateful for)! Sometimes I believe he is completely tone deaf. His runs do not cover up his horrible tonality. And he chases notes! It is not good to be at this level of a competition and be a note chaser! My choir and rehearsal stratedgies professor would have a heart-a-stroke! With that said I am looking forward to seeing him sent home next week so that the competition can begin and the circus can stop! I enjoyed watching Diana Ross perform too. Yeah she is older and doesn't quite have the voice she used to, but she is a true performer. She most definitely can still work a crowd. I'm looking forward to next week!!! :-)

What a day...

Got up 15 minutes late this morning, but still managed to take my time and get ready for work. I was actually early! Got to the school, took all the chairs off the tables, and prepared for my car riders to arrive. I found out really quick that something cosmic happened over the weekend because the four year olds that walked into the classroom this morning had lost their little minds! They drove Mrs. C and I looney all day long. I even made a little sign out of stickers that said, "Mrs. Stacy is going loco", and ended up doing it upside down on the paper! Mrs. C decided that she needed a sign as well...her's needed to say, "I Quit". She is so funny. I am enjoying working with her. At lunch today I even had to keep one of my kiddies awake. He falls asleep every day! I even went so far as to pull his chair away from the table so it would force him to sit up and not lay his head on the table, but the boy slept sitting up!!! I was so glad when naptime rolled around. I didn't want to wake the 'angels' up for a snack! I somehow managed to make it through the day, so score 1 pt. for me!!!

Dress!

I got my dress, I got my dress! Sadly I cannot post a picture of it because the hubby reads my blog. I will post some wedding pics after the big day though, so it's all good. It was fun trying all the different dresses on. I enjoyed that part of my day. I am just glad it is over and I have the dress. I go for my final fitting in April and luckily that is an annual leave day so I don't have work! :-)

On a totally different note, I did not want to get up this morning. Spring 'arriving' three weeks early has thrown me off. I don't know about anyone else but I enjoyed my extra hour of sleep, and giving it up was sad! Oh well, I don't have a way of getting it back so looks like I'll be going to bed earlier! :-)

More at Four!

Somewhere down the line someone decided that it would be a good idea to put 4 yr. olds in school. Today I started my More at 4 gig! They are extremely cute, adorable, you name it! They also have more energy than I do, and I don't want to hear the words 'Ms. Stacy' ever again, lol. I do enjoy working with them though, and have that to look forward to for the next two months. Tomorrow is Grandparent's day for Pre-K and K at school and I have that to look forward to. We're also going to be eating Pig Slop since we are reading 'The Three Little Pigs' this week. Pig Slop consists of chocolate pudding, gummy worms, and M&Ms. It is been hilarious threatening the kids about taking it away too. Mrs. Crump and I have been having to do this all day. Everytime one of us turns around we hear the other saying, "You better lay down and take your nap or you won't be getting any pig slop," "stop rough housing or you don't get pig slop." What a horrible sounding threat, but these little tikes really want that pig slop! We also got a new little girl today who does not speak English! So we were running back and forth to the internet playing with an online Spanish Dictionary trying to figure out ways to communicate with her. It is interesting to say the least!

I am feeling better today as well. I was so worried that I wouldn't feel like going in to work today, but I am so glad that I was able to. I am still a little tired from my 24 hr. bug, but other than that I am back to my old self! Mrs. Happy-go-Lucky! I don't think my hubby is back up to par yet though. He has had a fever the past few days and has just been BLAH according to what he says. Too bad I'm not there to take care of him, sniffle!

And I am excited about my picture consultation tomorrow. I can't wait to get the guy booked and have that out of the way! Exciting exciting!

Urrgg...

This week I am getting a lot accomplished, but I am sick! I was suppose to have taken over a maternity leave today, but I have an icky stomach virus. Needless to say it is not a lot of fun. I'll start that tomorrow. I'll only have a two day week as well since Friday is a teacher workday. No complaints here!

On a bright and sparkly note, wedding plans are starting to come together. Took care of the cake business last night, so a big CHECK there. Flowers are being taken care of, CHECK! Going to drop Chloe's check in the mail tomorrow for the invitations. Dad and I have a consultation with the picture guy Thursday afternoon, and Linda and I are going to get a dress on Saturday. Dad is taking care of the Rehearsal dinner so that is one less thing for me to do. So now I'm down to looking for a caterer and some candelabra's for the sanctuary. Of course there are the small things for the reception that have to be taken care of like utensil's and things, but we'll wait on those for a bit. I'm just glad things are falling into place. I don't feel as stressed out anymore. Don't get me wrong, I am still plenty stressed it just isn't as bad. Now I just need to find a pianist. You'd think that being a music major I'd know plenty of them, but I really don't. So gotta check on that.

Now if only I could shake this bug I'd being doing perfectly!

good times

I had loads of fun yesterday at Jess's. After her *jewerly party she and I went to take a look at her new house and see if the construction ppl had done any work there this week. They had put in her new kitchen cabinets and had done some work on the counter tops. Overall things are getting done. It is going to look beautiful when they are finished! I'm happy for her. I also got to see the lunar eclipse last night on my way home from her house. I had to pull off the road to look at it, but it was worth it.

*I wanted to buy everything in that jewelry catalog yesterday, but I practiced some self-control. It was Lia Sophia jewerly, and they have some of the cutest necklaces and earrings. Well, everything they had was cute, necklaces/bracelets/earrings/rings/etc, but I mainly looked at the necklaces and earrings. I also took a look at some pieces that Jess had that I would be able to borrow. I will definitely be hitting up her jewelry box!

Jewerly Party

After today I am really looking forward to tomorrow. Today consisted of me babysitting some high school students who thought that I was "one of them". I hate to break it to them, but I am most certainly not "one of them." After I left the one school I scurried over to the elementary school I am going to be working at for the next 6 weeks. I spoke with Mrs. W about what to expect with the 4 year olds that I am going to be working with. They have so many rules they have to follow! She was really great about simplifying things though, so I won't have to worry about doing everything that she does now. I am actually looking forward to that challenge now! So I didn't get home until 4:30! I had time to scarf down a slice of pizza before I had to make the weekly run to the grocery store for my Grandmother. Once I finally made it out of the store and got home and put things up for her, I practically ran out here to Dad's for computer time. I was in such a huge hurry, and when I tried to open the door I found it locked. Grr...So I had to go hunt down some keys for the house (yeah good luck with that one!). Found some keys and ran back to the house, and just as I am getting to the door my Dad drives up! Anyway...moving on...

Tomorrow is going to be such a fun day! I get to go visit my best friend who is having a jewelry party. I don't plan to buy anything, but I am going to go visit and take her the cd with my wedding music on it. It'll be so good to get away and see people I haven't seen in a while. I'll also get to listen to the radio. Silly as that may sound I love to listen to the radio and the only time I get to is when I'm taking a trip somewhere. :-) Hurray for roadtrips!

Taxes

H & R Block got $131 this morning from me for filing my taxes. My dad paid $87 just like everyone else. They made me file as married/filing separately. Grrr...I also had to call to Finland, well have my brother call to FI, so I could get the hubby's SSN. I think it is crap myself having to pay so much esp. when I don't make very much. Sad to say but last year with the 2 jobs I work I made right under $7000 for the year. Yup! That is all. It is a wonder I ever have any money. Uncle Sam finds everyway possible to take it from me!
